Morrel progress and a win

Two more Morrell Quilt blocks finished. I have 4 more prepared ready to sew. After that there is only one block left! The last block has lots of tiny triangles in it, so I have been procrastinating over that one!

A few weeks ago Barb of Fun With Barb and Mary had a giveaway. I was lucky enough to be the winner! :) I won the pattern below. Barb also included a cute Halloween card. Thank you Barb for a great prize!

I started working on the pattern earlier this week. Here is my progress so far. I have found enough fabrics in my stash to make the whole top.

A few photos from my garden.

The tree below is a Native Frangipani. The yellow flowers have a wonderful scent.

Several of my orchids are blooming at the moment.

Thank you to everyone who left a comment on my last post. I will reply to you all.
Still feeling not so good.

  1. I continue to love these Morrell blocks and must make that quilt one day.

  2. Oh I love your Morrell blocks and that purple orchid is lovely.

  3. Those Morrell blocks are beautiful and your garden is fantastic. Looks like you were blessed with a green thumb along with your sewing talent.

  4. Oooooh, Miriam, I don't know where to start: Congrats on being so close to being done: wow, I love your blocks... and that last one: It will get done, because you have magic fingers and you are FABULOUS! :)
Can't wait to see it done!!!
    and what an orchid!!!

  5. I love the blocks and your flowers look great to me because we have snow already.

  6. Those are beauitful blocks. I love the flower block of hexies.

  7. Your work is lovely Miriam. I was very sad to read about your dog. Old age took our dog about 4 years ago and it really was very difficult to say goodbye. The yard still seems empty and I am sure the birds still come by looking for her.

  8. Oh, your blocks are looking very nice.
    Congrats on your win.
Thanks so much for coming by my blog.
